46th Voorheesville Memorial Day Races May 27, 2023 3.2K Run, 3.2K Fun Walk, & 15K Run Come Join the FUN! Racing has been a part of Voorheesville’s Memorial Day Celebration since 1976, and the Voorheesville Running and Cycling Club is excited to conduct the 46th Voorheesville Memorial Day Races! Whether you’re looking for the chaos of preschoolers in their first dash, the thrill of a quick 3.2K, or the solitude of a 15K challenge, we’ve got you covered. Run through the heart of the village and then out on quiet roads beneath the beautiful Helderberg escarpment. There is even a section through the orchards of Indian Ladder Farms!
Join in the Village of Voorheesville’s Memorial Day events and receive a free beer and hotdog post race provided by the Voorheesville American Legion Post No. 1493! There is a combined cap of 250 participants between both races.
Race Day Schedule
ALL 3.2K and 15K participants are encouraged to gather at the start area by 12:15 PM

Registration & Fees Pre-registration is available through May 24, 2023 using the form linked below. Price increases take effect beginning May 25, 2023. The combined 3.2K and 15K race field is capped at 250 participants.

On-Line payments should clearly indicate the LastName, FirstName of the registered runner(s); alternatively, the e-mail address used to register must match that associated with the electronic payment.
Registrations/Payments that cannot be correlated by race officials may not be honored. Refunds will be provided as appropriate.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 as necessary for additional registrations/payments.
To Register and Pay On Event Day
The Registration tent will open at approximately 9 AM on event day. Your electronic registration is preferred even if visiting the Registration tent however, paper registrations will be available on race day if needed.
Event Logistics
Getting There and Parking: Races are a part of the Village of Voorheesville’s annual Memorial Day commemorations. From 10 AM until at least NOON, Maple Ave from the Voorheesville Center business plaza to the Voorheesville Elementary School will be blocked and/or congested. From 10 AM until 2:30 PM, Voorheesville Ave from Maple Ave to the American Legion will be closed to traffic. Use alternative roads to reach parking areas. Here is a map with the parade route and places to park.
Race Registration/Officials’ Tent: The Registration/Officials’ tent will be located adjacent to the Albany County Sheriff EMS garage on race day. Official course maps will be on display. Race results will be presented from this general location.
**Children's Dashes: Children’s Dashes will be located near the tennis courts in Jim Nichols Park approximately 5-minutes after the Memorial Day speeches. The FREE Children’s Dashes are informally organized by school year. Dashes range from 30-50 yards. We typically see participants through the fourth or fifth grades. Event ribbons are provided to all participants. Typically 2-3 races are held per school year; the entire event lasts approximately 15-minutes.
3.2K and 15K Race Courses: The 3.2K and 15K races start on Voorheesville Avenue in front of Reilly & Son Funeral Home (9 Voorheesville Ave). A poster board of the course map will be available at the Registration tent on race day. Unofficial course map can be found here.
Hydration Stations: There will be water stations located at approximately 1, 3, 5, and 8-miles. The Voorheesville Running & Cycling Club is excited to promote sustainable racing. As such, PLEASE STRIVE TO BRING YOUR OWN HYDRATION SYSTEM SUCH AS A RUNNING BELT OR PACK, A SPORTS BOTTLE, OR A COLLAPSING CUP. Race staff will be available to help you refill your hydration system along the course as needed. Disposable paper cups will be available on a limited basis. Crossing the Finish Line and Recording Your Results:
Only registered participants should cross the finish line. Runners should expect manual processes that require their assistance. For example: a. Stay in line after crossing the finish line b. Take an index card from a race official upon exiting the chute c. Take the index card to the Registration tent to have your results recorded d. Official scores will take time to tabulate
Refreshments and music will be available at the Voorheesville American Legion Post No. 1493 while race results are being tabulated.
